Yemen's Houthi movement declared on Monday that it launched drone strikes against two airports located in Saudi Arabia, according to a report from Reuters.

The group stated that two unmanned aerial vehicles were deployed in an operation aimed at Dammam Airport. In an additional assertion, the Houthis reported targeting a military plane stationed at Jazan Airport, situated near the kingdom's southern border.

Authorities in Saudi Arabia have not verified the Houthi claims regarding either facility. The full extent of any potential damage or the precise outcome of the claimed operations remains unconfirmed.

However, Saudi military officials did confirm aerial activity over the kingdom earlier in the day. The Saudi Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems intercepted and neutralized two incoming drones over the Riyadh area.

Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, acting as the defense ministry's official spokesperson, stated on social media platform X that the two unmanned aircraft were intercepted and destroyed in the Riyadh region.

The Houthis described the airport strikes as an extension of their ongoing military actions against Saudi Arabia. Cross-border drone and missile launches have repeatedly characterized the conflict between the Yemeni group and the Saudi-led coalition, frequently threatening critical infrastructure and transportation hubs across the region.
