Editorial standards

REALNEWS HUB publishes short, clear reports on the day's important news. This page explains where our stories come from, how they are written and checked, how we label what is AI-generated, and how we correct mistakes.
Our principles
- Accuracy first. Every fact in a story must be supported by the reporting it is based on. If details are thin, we publish less rather than guess.
- Fairness. We write in a neutral tone, attribute claims to whoever made them, and do not present opinion as fact.
- Transparency. Every news story links to its original source, and we say how we use AI.
- Independence. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in what we cover or how.
Where our news comes from
Our stories start from reporting by established news organisations, official bodies and wire services, which our editors choose to follow. Each news story names its source and links to the original report under “Source & verification”.
- We use another outlet's report as a source of facts, never of words: our articles are written fresh, and we do not republish other outlets' text or photos.
- Direct quotes are reproduced exactly and attributed to the person who said them.
- Outlets with a record of state propaganda or unreliable reporting are never used for stories we publish automatically.
How we use AI
REALNEWS HUB uses AI to write and check stories, so that a small newsroom can cover more of the news. The rules the AI must follow, and the checks every story passes, are what keep that reliable:
- Writing. An AI model writes each article from the source report, under strict rules: original wording only, no copying of the source's sentences, no invented quotes, numbers, names, dates or events, and claims attributed to their source.
- Automatic checks. Before review, every figure and direct quote in the article is matched against the source, and the article is compared with the source for copied passages. Drafts that copy the source are rewritten or rejected, and a figure or quote that does not match the source stops the story from being published automatically.
- Editorial review. An automated editor checks that every claim is supported by the source and scores the story for accuracy, clarity, completeness and neutral tone. Stories that fail are not published automatically.
- People decide on sensitive stories. Stories involving unproven accusations against identifiable people, sexual violence, minors, suicide or self-harm, medical advice, election-fraud claims, or anything potentially defamatory are never published automatically: they wait for a human editor, as do stories our systems could not fully verify. Editors can change or unpublish any story.
- Explained. Our explainers are built only from REALNEWS HUB's own published reporting, which each explainer lists, and are checked against those articles.
- Images. Unless a photo credit says otherwise, the lead image of a story is an AI-generated illustration made for that story and marked with our logo. It is not a photo of the actual event, and never shows identifiable real people.
- Video. Our news videos are narrated with an AI-generated voice. Each video says so, and we mark them on YouTube as containing AI-generated (synthetic) media.
Verification and credibility ratings
Each story carries a rating based on how many independent, reputable news organisations report the same event:
- Verified: confirmed by at least two independent outlets, including a wire service, a major news organisation or an official body, or announced by an official body itself.
- Developing: reported by one trusted outlet, or by three or more independent outlets.
- Unconfirmed: not yet independently confirmed. Treat it with caution.
Copies of the same report and news aggregators never count as confirmation. Ratings are re-checked as other outlets report the story, and editors can adjust them.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and say so. A corrected article shows “Corrected” with the date and time under the byline, and a note at the end explaining what was wrong. We do not quietly change the substance of a story. Spelling, grammar and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning are made without a note.
Report an error or contact the newsroom
Every article ends with a Report it link that emails us with the article's address filled in. You can also write to info@realnewshub.blog or use our contact page. Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, link to a source. We read every report and correct confirmed errors as described above.
Ownership, funding and independence
REALNEWS HUB is owned and operated by Next Tech Labs LLC. It is free to read. It is funded by advertising, some of it served by Google, and by affiliate links: if you buy something through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every ad and affiliate placement is labelled Sponsored or Advertisement. Advertisers do not see stories before they are published and have no influence over our coverage. See About us for more.
