Jeddah airport faces major flight cancellations following Houthi threats
Saudi Arabia’s busiest airport, Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport, saw widespread flight cancellations and delays on Tuesday.

Flight operations at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah faced severe disruptions on Tuesday, with hundreds of services grounded or delayed as Yemen's Houthi movement intensified strikes against key aviation hubs across Saudi Arabia.
According to data compiled by the tracking platform Flightradar24, 182 scheduled flights had been called off by 6 p.m. local time, representing nearly a quarter of all planned operations for the day. An additional 255 flights, or about 32 percent of the daily schedule, experienced delays.
The disruptions effectively halted departures from the Kingdom's most heavily used transport hub during the late afternoon. Tracking logs indicated that the final outbound service to leave the facility was a Jazeera Airways aircraft bound for Kuwait City, which departed at 3:34 p.m.
Inbound traffic was similarly constrained as the evening approached. Flightradar24 recorded the airport's last arriving service at 5:54 p.m., when a Badr Airlines flight touched down after traveling from Port Sudan.
The widespread operational breakdown coincides with a surge in cross-border hostile actions by the Iran-aligned Houthi faction, which has increasingly targeted civilian airport infrastructure in the Kingdom. Airport officials have not yet issued public statements addressing the scale of the cancellations or providing an estimated timetable for the resumption of normal flight schedules.
