Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has delivered heartfelt sympathies to Nigeria after an aviation accident in Ondo State resulted in the deaths of 25 people.

The message of sympathy was communicated through an official government release on Thursday, following the air disaster that took place on October 5 in Igbokoda. Representing the administration and the citizens of Ghana, Mahama expressed sorrow over the incident and reached out directly to those mourning the fatalities.

The official message conveyed condolences to the relatives, associates, and coworkers of those who lost their lives. Ghana's leadership also directed its support toward the Nigerian military establishment and the general public across the country during this period of national mourning.

According to the official communication, Ghana feels a close connection to the disaster due to its own recent aviation catastrophe. The statement referenced an occurrence within the past year in which six Ghanaian citizens perished under similar conditions, noting that the memory of that loss remains fresh for the nation.

Because of that previous incident, the Ghanaian administration observed that it intimately understands the anguish and heartache currently gripping the Nigerian public. The government confirmed that the people of Ghana stand beside their West African neighbor, offering solidarity and keeping the impacted families in their thoughts and prayers as the nation absorbs the loss.
