Data deletion

You can ask us to delete any personal data REALNEWS HUB holds about you at any time. This page explains what we hold and how to have it removed. Our privacy policy has the full details.

Newsletters and email alerts

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, which stops all emails straight away. After you unsubscribe we keep only a record that you did, so we don't email you by mistake. To have your email address removed completely, send us a deletion request (see below).

Browser notifications

Turn notifications off on our Newsletters page, or block notifications for realnewshub.blog in your browser's site settings. We delete the push address as soon as you turn them off, or when your browser reports it no longer exists.

Facebook and Instagram data

REALNEWS HUB uses a Meta app only to publish our own stories to our own Facebook Page and Instagram account. Readers never sign in to REALNEWS HUB with Facebook or Instagram, and we don't collect data about readers from Meta.

The only Meta data we store is the access token and account name of a Facebook Page or Instagram account that was connected to our newsroom tools by someone who manages it. The token is stored encrypted and is used only to publish posts. To remove it:

  1. In Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (or open them directly), select REALNEWS HUB and click Remove. Our access stops immediately.
  2. Then email us a deletion request (below), and we will delete the stored token and account details.

Newsroom staff can also click Delete on the connection in Social Connections, which deletes the token and account details at once.

How to request deletion

Email info@realnewshub.blog with the subject Data deletion request. Tell us the email address you subscribed with, or the Facebook Page or Instagram account concerned. We will confirm by email once your data has been deleted, within 30 days and usually much sooner.

What we can't delete

Standard server logs are kept only as long as needed to run and secure the site and are then deleted automatically. Our audience figures are anonymous totals that cannot be linked to you. Cookies set by advertisers or affiliate networks are controlled by them and by your browser; see the links in our privacy policy.
